K PianoAcademy

Kenneth L. Wilson, Sr., “Mr. Kenny” is the founder and executive director of the K-piano Music Academy, the world’s only game-based, an interactive, music learning system designed to effectively teach piano and drums to children in classes as large as 28-35 students. Kenny is a second-generation piano teacher and professional musician, who has shared the stage with Musiq Soulchild, Kelly Price, Kim Burrell, Men of Standard, JT Money, and many others. While on the road as a musician, Kenny began developing piano lessons, games, videos, and a complete system to teach the foundations of piano to children–not yet fully knowing what it would one day become.

The son of a jazz musician, Kenny grew up in a musical home where he learned to play several instruments, read music, and developed his own unique sound and approach to playing the piano. Kenny is a firm believer that his background in music is what allowed him to excel academically–and the research supports this notion. Kenny received his bachelor’s degree in accounting & finance from Clark Atlanta University and his corporate career spanned from Big 4 CPA firms to serving as the Senior Internal Audit Executive for Atlanta Public Schools. In the midst of his corporate career accelerating, Kenny felt a profound desire to shift gears and devote his life to his greatest joy–teaching children to play the piano, just as his father taught him.

Kenny began testing his K-Piano Method with several colleagues who confirmed their children both learned from and loved his approach to teaching. Since then, Kenny has focused his life’s work on building scalable piano learning solutions that increase student access to piano lessons. Over the years, K-Piano Music Academy has taught over 23,000 students (and counting) and has donated over $150,000 to local schools for various initiatives. The K-Piano Learning Foundation continues to make a major impact in Atlanta and our waitlist of partner schools extends into 2022.

Kenneth is a long-standing resident of Stockbridge Georgia and a proud father of three children:

  • Kenny Jordan
  • Jaila Nicole
  • Kenneth Jr

Align with the spirit and letter of the mission and bylaws of the Foundation.
